UG Studies: Prof. (Dr.) John M George

Dr.John M George started his career as an academician with TKM College of Engineering, Kollam and retired in 2006 as P.G Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering after 29 years of service. He served as Principal at Musaliar College of Engineering and Technology, Pathanamthitta from 2006 to 2009 , Caarmel Engineering College, Perunad, Ranni from 2009 to 2010, and also with Bishop Jerome Institute from 2010 to 2014, before joining RSET. Having secured his Doctoral Degree from IIT-Madras in 1991, he is an active guide of PhD and had published and presented a number of research papers in the various national and international journals and seminars, besides having been part of the various research projects. He is a Chartered Engineer (India) and Member of ASHRAE (USA), Member of IEEE, Life Member Energy Conservation Society,Kerala, Life Member Indian Society for Wind Engineering,Roorkee, Life Member ISTE,New Delhi, Life Member The combustion Institute and Fellow of the institution of Engineers,India.


Dean - PG Studies: Prof. (Dr.) Vinodkumar P B

Dr. Vinod Kumar P B joined RSET on 3rd September 2001. Currently, he is a Professor in Mathematics and Dean of Post Graduate Studies. He completed his M. Sc, M. Phil and PhD in Mathematics from Cochin University of Science & Technology. He was awarded PhD in 2001 for his thesis work entitled On Chaos and Fractals in General Topological Spaces under the supervision of Prof. T. Thrivikraman. He has 47 research publications in various international journals. He has visited many institutions in India and abroad for invited talks in conferences, workshops and faculty development programmes. Some of the foreign institutions he visited are Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA; Michigan State University, USA; Western Michigan University, USA; Kyoto University, Japan; Beijing Normal University, China; Australian National University, Australia and Osaka University, Japan. He is a regular invited speaker for AICTE/UGC refresher courses. He is an approved research guide of A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala and Christ University, Bangalore. One research scholar has completed PhD under his guidance and 8 research scholars are pursuing PhD under his guidance. He has competed 3 research projects with funding from UGC, NBHM and DST. There are three ongoing research projects as well, funded by NBHM, DST and NRB (DRDO). In 2018, Centre for Topology and Applications was established at RSET under his initiative. The centre is funded by NBHM and DST. He is a member of Indian Mathematical Society, Kerala Mathematical Association, Ramanujan Mathematical Society, American Mathematical Society, London Mathematical Society, Institute of Mathematics and Applications, Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Association of America and International Association of Engineers. His research interests include Topological Dynamics, Topological Data Analysis, Fractal Geometry, Chaos Theory, Signal Processing and Information Theory.

Dean-Research: Prof. (Dr.) K Poulose Jacob

Dr. K. Poulose Jacob graduated in Electrical Engineering from Kerala University with Merit Scholarship post matriculate. He completed M.Tech in Electronics and secured PhD in Computer Engineering, both from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). Joining CUSAT as a faculty in 1983, he was promoted as Professor of Computer Science in 1994 and was nominated as Head of the Department of Computer Science which position he occupied until 2013 when he was appointed as Pro Vice Chancellor of CUSAT on a four-year tenure. He was officiating Vice Chancellor of CUSAT during January – October 2014. During the period he was on the rolls of CUSAT, he held several academic positions like Chairman of four different Boards of Studies and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering as well as Dean of the Faculty of Technology. He continues as a Member of CUSAT Academic Council in his 25th year.
His fields of interest include Parallel Processing, Networks and Information Systems Engineering. A recognised thesis supervisor of CUSAT, he has authored around one hundred and fifty refereed Journal and International Conference Papers. Twenty four scholars have secured PhD under his supervision. He is a Professional member of the ACM and life member of the CSI.
He occupied the NeST Chair Professor at RSET for a two-year tenure since July 2017. Presently, he continues at RSET as Professor and Dean (R & D).
