ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Civil Engineering started in the year 2013 with an undergraduate programme, B. Tech in Civil Engineering with a sanctioned intake of 60 students, offered as per the curriculum of MG University, Kottayam. From 2015, the programme is offered as per the curriculum of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). Since 2020, the department offers its own curriculum as RSET has been awarded the autonomous status.
The B.Tech programme aims at producing bright graduates in Civil Engineering to meet the rapid technological advances and industrial requirements. The department has highly qualified faculty members specialised in various disciplines of Civil Engineering. They add strength to the department with their competitive skills and steadfast dedication. The department is also equipped with eight engineering laboratories to cater to external projects and consultancy work.
The faculty members pursue research in areas such as Structural Engineering, Building Materials, Construction Management, Geotechnical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Engineering and Transportation Engineering. The department ensures the involvement of students in research activities by taking up relevant projects and publishing their findings in reputed international conferences and journals.
The department strives to excel in the areas of academia, research and industry by moulding professionals in the field of Civil Engineering to build a sustainable world.
To impart quality education and mould technically sound, ethically responsible professionals in the field of Civil Engineering with a broad skill set of creativity, critical thinking and effective communication skills to meet the desired needs of the society within realistic socio-economic environmental constraints.

Four years at Rajagiri seem like yesterday, but the learning experience and memories made will surely last a lifetime. The invaluable skills and abilities learnt through my course with the help of Civil Department has helped me climb up the ladder of life
Ms. Anjana Francis (2017-21 Batch) ,Structural engineer, Cameron
RSET has moulded me into the confident person that I'm today. I'll always be grateful to the dedicated teaching faculty of the civil engineering department for helping me evolve from a student to a professional in due course of time. RSET gave us all the necessary impetus needed to be competitive in this world of today. Being a part of the cultural and sports activities in RSET also helped me evolve as a person and taught me the importance of teamwork and time management which has eventually helped me in my professional life. Most importantly, RSET gave me a bunch of memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
Mr. Nithin Dev (2014-2018 Batch),Senior planning engineer, L&T Mumbai Vadodara Expressway project at Gujarat
Being a proud Rajagirian, I can say that RSET, especially the department of Civil Engineering has groomed me into a better human. Apart from getting our basic fundamentals right, which obviously is done by our best, experienced and supportive faculties, they mould us to be a better professional with profound knowledge in the field, get our work ethics right and strong, improve our soft skills and develop our character and morale. Moreover, RSET has given me some beautiful bonds for a lifetime.
Anjana Rajendran (2013-17 batch),Deputy Manager - Planning & Commercial Tata Projects Limited
RSET is a propitious platform to gear oneself up for a competitive world. From a person who failed to crack Medical Entrance exam, RSET emboldened to aspire a prospective career. Abundant opportunities were endowed to us to discover and outshine our talents, where we made treasurable memories of our college life. Earnest efforts taken by the entire Faculty of Civil Engineering department to impart their valuable knowledge is exemplary. The guidance and affection bestowed upon us makes RSET our second home.
