Karunakara P. Menon did his BTech. in Electronics & Communications Engineering from NIT Calicut in 1985,  M.E in Applied Electronics  from Coimbatore Institute of Technology in 1988 and MS in Engineering Management  from Santa Clara University, California,USA in 2004.  His research interests are in the areas of Computer Architecture & VLSI Design 

He has been working in Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology, Kochi since July 2016. Before joining Rajagiri, from 1988 to 1990 he worked as a Senior Project Officer in VLSI Design Center at IIT Madras. From 1990 to 2015 he worked as a Principal Engineer involved in Microprocessor Chip development and High Performance Computer Systems design projects at industry leading companies in California, USA - Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Cisco and Fujitsu Microelectronics. He was also involved in Open Source SPARC Microprocessor development projects with universities in India & USA for a period of 4 years.

Currently, he is teaching courses in VLSI Systems Testing and System on Chip Design for PG classes and Computer Architecture, Real Time Operating Systems and Computer Networks for UG classes.

He is an active member of ACM and ISTE. He has published technical papers in IEEE National and International Conferences.
