Prof. Dominic Mathew Graduated in Electrical Engineering in the year 1983 from College of Engineering, Trivandrum and obtained master’s degree in Power Electronics in 1997 from Cochin University of Science & Technology.

 

He joined Hindustan Paper Corporation in 1984 as a Graduate Trainee. Subsequently joined Hindustan Machine Tools Ltd as Engineering Trainee in 1984 and served for 23 yrs and 5 months. He was DGM & Head of Electrical and Electronics Design. His responsibilities involved Design & Development of wide range of Computer Numerically Controlled Turning machines and Sheet Fed Offset Printing machines. He has worked in installation, commissioning, servicing and production departments.

 

Major highlights of his work include development of software codes for complex automation applications, implemented indigenization of programmable logic controllers and other related items, cost reduction methods, improved serviceability and machine aesthetics.

 

He switched to academics as Professor in Electrical Engineering at TocH Institute of Science & Technology in 2007. In 2009 joined Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology as Professor in Electrical Engineering. In 2010 he shifted to the department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation.

 

His areas of interest are Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Deep learning, Signal Processing, Industrial Electrical Drives and Automation. He introduced machine learning for post graduate program in signal processing at APJKTU.  He has published 31 conference and journal papers in areas of machine learning, signal processing and electrical drives.
