M.Tech. Programme

  • Eligibility will be subject to the rules and regulations of APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University/AICTE.
      
  • The candidates shall be citizens of India.
      
  • The candidates shall have acquired the prescribed qualification from an institution approved by the AICTE and Mahatma Gandhi University. 
      
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in BE / B.Tech in the respective discipline.
  • For SC/ST candidates a pass in the above mentioned degrees is sufficient 
      
  • Candidates, who have passed AMIE/AMIETE examinations and satisfying the following conditions, are eligible for admission to institutions under Universities of Kerala.
      
    • They must have valid GATE score.
        
    • A minimum of 55% marks for Section B in AMIE/ AMIETE examination.
        
    • Minimum three years of professional experience in the field of specialization after acquiring the qualifying degree.
        
  • Non GATE candidates have to appear for a test conducted by the Institution.
      
  • Candidates who have appeared for final examination of any of the qualifying examinations may also apply provided he/she has passed all the subjects up to and including 6th semester. Selection of such candidates shall be subject to the production of qualifying degree at the time of admission. 

PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION:
  

  • The selection of the candidate will be based on the valid GATE marks.
      
  • If sufficient GATE qualified candidates are not available, the selection will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the test conducted by the college.
      
  • Candidates who have completed the Bachelor’s Degree at RSET will be eligible for 5% weightage in calculating index mark/merit.
      
  • Sponsored candidates having more than 2 years’ experience will be given extra weightage based on their experience subject to a maximum of 10 marks out of 100. @ 2 marks for every additional completed year of experience.
      
  • Candidates currently working at RSET with a minimum of two years’ experience at RSET shall be eligible for 15% weightage in the index mark/merit.
      
  • Merit list for the different categories will be published in the website/college notice
      
  •  Selection will be strictly on the basis of inter-se merit. For Non-Sponsored (without Valid GATE Score) category index mark is calculated based on the following weightage,
  • Qualifying Examination (40%) and Entrance Examination (60%).
  • For Sponsored category index mark is calculated based on Qualifying Examination (40%),

             Entrance Examination (50%) and Post Qualification experience (10%).

  • Short listed candidates have to undergo a personal interview

GUIDELINES FOR SCHOLARSHIP SCHEMES

  • A student can avail any one of the above scholarship schemes. At the time of admission a student can apply for any one of 1, 2 or 4 schemes. Scholarship schemes are applicable to both GATE and Non- GATE applicants
  • Merit Scholarship is awarded based on the CGPA/percentage at the time of admission. After the publication of final result, if the CGPA falls below 7.0, the scholarship will be cancelled
  • Students who are not under the category of 1, 2 or 4 can apply for Lead scholarship at the end of Semester I. If the S1 CGPA > 7.5, scholarship can be availed in S2, and if S2 CGPA > 7.5, scholarship can be availed in S3 and so on.
  • Scholarships are liable to be withdrawn, partially or wholly, in case of misconduct, deliberate concealment of materials/facts and/or supply of false information, and/or continued absence of more than one month except on medical grounds.
  •  Scholarships are liable to be reduced or terminated for a period of up to one semester on account of poor academic performance or not carrying out the assigned tasks in a satisfactory manner.
