Greetings from the Department of Mathematics!

In the past few decades, the industrial and technological fraternity have undergone changes that reflect the need for engineers with a sound background in pure sciences, especially Mathematics. The department of mathematics at RSET strives to build future engineers with this ability.

The mathematics family at RSET was working for this goal as a part of the Department of Basic Science and Humanities till June, 2020 post which  the department became independent; inorder to promote research and innovation. The selfless service of our faculty members helps in nurturing the skill set of our students.

The department offers core mathematics courses both in the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Advanced topics are delivered in the form of minor and honor courses. A recognized research center of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, the department has two research supervisors, with 14 research scholars under their guidance. Apart from the usual academic activities, the department is putting in constant efforts to nurture the mathematical and logical skills of our students by way of Mathematics Club activities. Outreach programmes are also conducted, viz. various certificate and diploma courses in mathematics. We are soon planning to launch a YouTube channel for enhanced mathematics learning.

The Center for Topology and Applications(CETA), supported by the National Board for Higher Mathematics(NBHM), Department of Atomic Energy(DAE) and Department of Science and Technology(DST), Government of India aims to find a place of its own in the scientific horizon. The Center promotes research in pure mathematics as well as interdisciplinary projects.

The contributions of all the faculty members, both past and present, have helped in the development of the department in particular and RSET in general. Our vision surpasses all the limits and we will always strive for excellence.
