The Placement & Guidance cell at RSET has been scaling higher and higher peaks right from its first year of activity when seven top level internationally renowned companies came to the campus and recruited from the very first batch. The second year saw the number rising to 17, including two true MNCs, namely GE (Consumer and Industrial) and Robert Bosch, with all eligible students being placed - some with more than one job offer. This third year promises to be even better with all the top recruiters coming to campus.
The Placement cell at RSET has also been able to extend and offer its services to other engineering/MCA colleges, and more than 50 colleges have taken part in the placement process and their students placed in some of the best companies. This is done as a selfless service and has been offered free of cost to the participants.
Colleges who wish to participate in our placement processes are requested to send a request to the Placement Coordinator at vphilip48@yahoo.com . Colleges that have participated earlier but have not sent their contact details in the new format may also contact the placement coordinator.
On request from participating companies, we are also in the process of including Science graduates and post-graduates (essentially in Physics, Mathematics and Statistics) and also in Electronics and Computer Science. BCA students can also be included. Interested colleges are requested to contact the placement coordinator at the above mail id.
The cell aims at finding the appropriate placement for each candidate commensurate with his/her qualifications and aptitude. It prepares students for recruitment by organizing lectures, seminars and presentations; and providing training through aptitude tests (both written and on-line), group discussions and mock interviews. It is also a source of information on job opportunities and prospects of higher education.
Another feature of the placement cell is that it keeps in touch with its alumni, especially those who were not placed while on campus and offers them opportunities until they are suitably placed.
Entrepreneurship Development Club
The Entrepreneurship Development club supplements the activities of the Placement and Career Guidance Cell. The club conducts activities to foster an entrepreneurial culture, generate a healthy respect for entrepreneurs and their contributions to society. The club has organised visits to industries and arranged the visits of many industrialists to the campus. Mr. Umesh Kammath, Chief HRD, Reliance Infocomm, and Mr. Kochouseph Chittilapilly, Managing Director, V-Guard Industries Ltd and Mr. Thomas John CEO Sun Fibre Optics Pvt. Ltd. are some among them. There is also a tie up with the Confederation of Indian Industries (Cochin Chapter) for regular programmes. The latest in this series was a talk by the Advisor to Tata Consultancy Services, Mr. R. Narayanan.
New: All Engineering and Science colleges interested in associating with us in our placement activities are requested to note the information given in the Placement link.
